1. Who operates the app
Sam Davey, trading as Sam Sam The Carpet Man, operates Cutting With Sam. Support: samsamthecarpetman.est2006@gmail.com. Business contact details are available on the linked Business details page.
2. Acceptance and eligibility
By accepting these Terms you confirm that you are at least 18 and have authority to use the app for the relevant business. Nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights where they apply.
3. Current access and generation allowance
The Plans and subscriptions screen shows the allowance verified for your account. One unit covers a successful generation and one regeneration of the same job. Further successful generations alternate between using another unit and an included regeneration. Opening or editing without generating, failed attempts and automatic retries do not use a unit. An allowance change does not erase existing records.
4. Planning aid only
The app is a planning, measuring and job-recording aid. It is not a quotation, pricing or ordering service, a site survey, a material guarantee, or a replacement for professional judgement.
5. Your checks and final confirmation
You must independently check every dimension, roll width, pile direction, permitted rotation, joins, allowances, orientation, selected products, accessory quantities and site condition before cutting, ordering, fitting or sharing a final sheet. You remain responsible for the final decision and confirmation.
6. Accounts and device security
You are responsible for access to your device and any connected account, token or service. Use suitable device security and do not share credentials. Tell support promptly if you suspect misuse.
7. Local records, deletion and backups
Signed-in cloud workspaces synchronise job records through Cutting With Sam. Company Drafts and Completed jobs are shared with authorised current members, including the owner. Personal jobs are not reassigned to a company by joining it. Jobs in Recently Deleted are normally retained for 30 days, but device loss, app removal, corruption or a storage change can still cause loss. Permanent deletion cannot be undone in the app. You are responsible for exporting suitable backups.
8. Tiers, subscriptions and expiry
The monthly UK tiers are Free GBP 0 (3 generation units), Solo GBP 10 (30 units), Business GBP 20 (200 shared units, up to 3 accounts including the owner), and Business Plus GBP 30 (unlimited generations subject to fair use, up to 6 accounts including the owner). Paid access requires store and server verification; the phone cannot grant it. The store confirmation shows the total price payable, billing period, trial eligibility and first payment before you agree. Check those details before confirming; you will not be charged an undisclosed add-on by this app. No purchase is required merely to accept these Terms. Business Plus fair use permits normal fitting work by your authorised accounts; it does not permit automated abuse, resale of access or sharing credentials beyond the plan. If we need to address misuse, we will explain the issue and a support review route, subject to urgent security measures and your legal rights. On expiry, the app returns to the applicable lower tier. Existing local data is not intentionally deleted and older completed jobs remain available to open and export, but paid features and some new actions may lock.
8a. Trials, offers and renewal
A renewing trial requires the store payment method and becomes paid unless cancelled. Before confirming, check the selected plan, trial length, first charge date, recurring price and billing period in the store. Google 30-day and Apple one-month trials are not necessarily the same number of days. Eligibility is checked by the store and our protected service; a code does not guarantee eligibility. An offer redemption deadline only limits when the offer can be claimed: it does not end a trial already validly started. Any non-renewing offer must be expressly identified as such. Normal subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. We do not charge you merely for accepting these Terms.
8b. Cancelling and restoring a subscription
Cancel renewal in the store used for purchase: Apple Settings > your name > Subscriptions, or Google Play > Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions. The app's Manage Subscription control opens the relevant store where supported. Follow the cancellation deadline shown by the store. Apple advises cancelling a free or discounted trial at least 24 hours before it ends; do not wait until the last moment. Check the store's confirmation and access end date. Uninstalling the app or deleting your Cutting With Sam account does not cancel the subscription. Cancelling future renewal is separate from requesting a refund. Use Restore Purchases with the original store account; a receipt cannot be reassigned to another app account without verified support review. If these controls fail or you cannot access the store, contact support promptly.
8c. Refunds, cancellation rights and faults
Refund requests can be made through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com or Google Play's refund process, or raised with us at samsamthecarpetman.est2006@gmail.com. Include the app account email, purchase date and order reference if available, and explain the problem. Do not send passwords, verification codes or full payment-card details. We will investigate issues with our app and assist with the appropriate store process; statutory remedies remain available. A store decision does not remove any separate legal claim you have against us. We do not operate a blanket no-refunds policy. Consumers buying at a distance normally have a 14-day cancellation period, subject to the rules for the particular digital content or service supplied. For digital content supplied immediately, loss of that right requires the legally required express consent and acknowledgement; accepting these general Terms or reading the Privacy Policy is not that waiver. For services started at your express request during that period, a lawful proportionate charge may apply. These cancellation exceptions do not remove rights where content or services are faulty, misdescribed or otherwise fail to meet applicable legal standards. You can notify us of statutory cancellation or a complaint by a clear email; no special form is required. We will explain our response and any available next steps.
9. Exports and authorised sharing
Internal and colleague exports may contain full job information; customer exports are reduced. You must choose the correct export and share it only with authorised recipients. The app does not connect directly to external job-management or productivity services. Export PDF files using the device share/save controls to your chosen destination. That destination has its own terms and privacy practices. Native company sharing inside Cutting With Sam uses each staff member's own sign-in, and the business owner controls membership. Leaving a company removes that account's authorised cloud access. Copies already exported to recipients cannot be recalled by the app.
10. Customer data and privacy
Only enter customer data you may lawfully use for the job. Keep it accurate, relevant and no longer than needed. Follow the Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection law when exporting, sharing or deleting records. The Company Data Processing Agreement forms part of these Terms when we host business job information. A company owner accepts it separately before staff sharing starts; staff cannot accept that company contract merely by joining. An individual workspace is not shared with company staff merely because it is hosted.
11. Screenshot protection
Where supported, the app may discourage or block screenshots on sensitive screens. Protection is not guaranteed on every platform and must not be bypassed. The in-app problem-report control may capture only the current Flutter app page after you tap it. Customer, job-dashboard, measurement-summary, final-sheet and export screens are blocked from this attachment. On permitted screens, the image is shown in the report form and can be removed before the final send action. You remain responsible for reviewing information shown or shared from your device.
12. Intellectual property and acceptable use
The app, branding and original content remain the property of their respective owner. You may use the app for its intended fitting and planning purpose. Do not reverse engineer, disrupt, copy for resale, misuse, or use it unlawfully except where law expressly permits. You keep your rights in job information you provide and may use and share the resulting job sheets for your work. You give us only the permission needed to process information for the features you use; you do not transfer ownership of your customer records to us. Manufacturer and product names identify materials; their inclusion does not mean that a manufacturer sponsors, approves or guarantees the app. Third-party software remains subject to its own licences.
13. Updates and availability
Updates may be required for security, compatibility or corrections. We will explain material changes before they apply where practicable and give reasonable notice for changes affecting a paid service. Urgent security measures may need immediate action. These Terms do not let us remove a paid service without applicable notice or remedies. Keep the app updated and contact support about faults.
14. Liability
You remain responsible for your supplied measurements, authorised sharing and final fitting or ordering decisions. This does not excuse our own faults or remove responsibility imposed by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or removes mandatory rights and remedies for faulty digital content or services. Contact support promptly about a suspected app error and avoid relying on the affected output until it is checked.
15. Suspension and termination
Access may be suspended or ended for unsafe, unlawful, abusive or materially non-compliant use, or where needed to protect users, data or the service. Measures must be proportionate; we will explain the reason and provide a contact route unless law or security prevents this. A subscription ending does not itself delete existing jobs. Company closure, ownership changes and deletion need checks so one person cannot erase another person's records. You may stop using the app and request account deletion in Account settings or contact support, subject to identity checks and records that must be retained by law. Cancelling store renewal is a separate step.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction, subject always to mandatory consumer rights and any mandatory local jurisdiction that applies.
17. Contact and changes
Questions or notices may be sent to samsamthecarpetman.est2006@gmail.com. Material changes may require acceptance again.
